INV 2017 3d PDF edit templates

Anyone know the requirements for software to be able to customize the 2017 3d PDF templates?

Minimum version of adobe acrobat?

Can you edit/create the templates with Bluebeam Revu also? (This is better/cheaper than Adobe products)

I had to use my Adobe Cloud one ... couldn't find a few one that worked for me ...

so now I'm following this ...

And when is the help documentation going to be updated to show how to edit the templates, the Anark Code programming guide,etc...

This is NOT sufficient for any user...

by NO Stretch is it easy to make a new template or update the ones given. 

I've been trying.  

I think I printed out a 20 page decoder pdf to give me what all inventor to anark codes/properties were

yes I too have (had) the decoder PDF but thats hidden on the beta sites and I can't find it nor is it documented in any of the help information from what I can find..

shoddy work so far for such long awaited functionality..

Any information you can get me (and all the rest of the users) on supported PDF programs for editing the templates and also additional documentation/examples/tutorials on working with/creating the templates is greatly appreciated..

For starters I use Adobe Acrobat Pro for editing the Templates.

I am still waiting on additional information.

I am on vacation Friday and Monday so will try and get you something as soon as I can.

I've finally figured out to get the edit working ...

but I'm also getting this error

Ok ...

Ths is what I've figured out so far:

To edit the templates, it's easy to do it from Explorer and RMB and say edit.  You have to click on the edit both of these .. but you have to close and re-edit to get to the other one.

I also found my decoder book  (41 pages of it)

Can I use Adobe alternatives (Blue Beam revu,etc...)? Surely someone knows that already..

I would think if you can edit the Anark default templates we got from Autodesk, why it wouldn't work... As long as it has the right codes etc.

However I've only used Adode, and I think it stinks that you have to have a 3rd party program to use the templates to your needs..

I'm using my own personal Adobe Creative Cloud account to edit my real job 3d PDF's... since we don't have Adobe Acrobat Pro/DC

As far as I know, it is only Adobe Acrobat Pro that we support for editing PDF files.

I know that I was required to purchase Adobe Acrobat Pro.

well...Just tried with Bluebeam PDF program and I couldn't edit the tags in the templates.. Nothing would select or do anything with them..

Time to submit the purchase req for Acrobat Pro I guess..  yuck..

@bob_holland Hows the progress on the "customization documentation" coming along ? 

Sure would be nice to have this properly documented just like the rest of Inventor in the help files,etc... 

3d PDF template customization feels like a "well kept secret" and I might need to start pulling teeth here pretty shortly..

@mdavis22569 Michael seems to be struggling through this too... and making progress but should we have to struggle and figure this stuff out like this?
