I received a large 250 mb rivet & a 142 mb 3d IFC file from client. While I am trying import any of these file into Inventor. Inventor giving a dialogue box insert view. After I choose  either "import as single composite feature" or  "Import as Multi-body part" inventor doses nothing and become ideal.  Please help how to deal with heavy files.

Hi Arsd,

Is it possible to share the data with me via dropbox or similar storage where can be downloaded, it seems an import performance problem and hope it can be addressed properly with the data.

Email: xun.zhang@autodesk.com

By the way, could you share any hardware information as well, such as CPU, RAM, etc.

Thanks!

Hello,

Just sharing a quick update, the problem was identified by Revit engine team which was known as rvt file migration related. It appears that the particular file was created in Revit 2017, open it in Inventor 2017, it is quite good and fast. However, Open in Revit 2018, it prompts a couple of error dialog saying instances lost which is incorrect and buggy. It is a data specific problem, which means it only happen in this particular rvt file only.

Project team is investigating it from now on.

Thanks again!

Is there any way to open it into inventor 2018? Because I don't have 2017. I have Inventor & AutoCAD Mechanical both 2018 version only.

Thank You
