Importing/downloading External Fonts

Hi Support,

I am trying to see if I can download a font which is not part of existing font list when you create a text. The font I am after is gun play regular. This is font used by our regular supplier for stencils and should we go to other supplier in future, I need to ensure that we use same font for all parts.

Is there a online / website where I can download fonts for IV2018? Also, where can I find existing font list in explorer rather than going to drawing and creating text and checking the list ? I have checked in public documents and design data but cant find folder called Fonts.

Please help me out here as this is bit urgent requirement. I need to start on next week.

Many Thanks and Kind Regards,

Yash

Inventor just uses your standard Windows fonts. /windows/fonts. You download and install them as usual.

If you want to explore them then get some font viewing software.

Hi Beno,

Thanks for helping. So If I download it from web and store it on windows even in download folder, Inventor will still pick up ?

Regards,

Yash

Inventor supports TrueType fonts (.ttf), you still have to install them to windows.

So once you download them, unpack them if they're zipped, right-click on the .ttf file and select "install".

They should show up in Inventor:

Gunplay is a free font, available on several free font sites like:

As stated Inventor supports ttf fonts (true type fonts) that have the .ttf extension..

You simply need to save them into the C:Windows/Fonts folder and Inventor can use them.

After the font is installed in the ...Windows\Fonts directory, it should appear in Inventor's list when you are doing the text.  Before Inventor 2019, Inventor could only use TTF (TrueType) fonts.  In 2019, the made it so Inventor could use OTF (OpenType) fonts also.
