Ilogic design copy references lost

I normally used the ilogic design copy to copy a finished project to use as a base for a new (similair) project so i don't need start over everything.

Ilogic does not update the refence of the parts to the new file name and is still searching for the old filename... What i am doing:

First screen of ilogic design copy:

  • Select all drawings, assemblies and parts of the old project

Second screen of ilogic design copy:

  • Select the target Folder to new project folder
  • Create the name of new project
  • File Naming : Search for 716 and replace them with 719
  • Checked box with update part number

End then start.

During processing it states:

Finished copying file

From: old project folder

to: new project folder

file refeneces updated (with assemblies), nothing with parts

After the files are copied i open the assembly and it is asking for the file with project name 716.

Does anyone have had this before or has a solution to this? I am almost thinking of reinstalling inventor but that will take some time i prefer not to lose.

Hi! The behavior does not sound right to me. If possible, please share the files that exhibit the behavior here or with me directly (johnson.shiue@autodesk.com). I would like to understand the iLogic Design Copy issue better.

Many thanks!

Hi,

The behavior didn't sound right to me either, but I've tested the issue on a colleages pc with the exact same files, and on his pc it all worked fine. In the end reïnstalling inventor has solved the issue. I'm guessing the issue originated from a hard stop using task manager during an iLogic Design Copy.

Sorry for the trouble, thanks for your assistance.

Hi! Please refrain from apologizing! You did not do anything wrong. I guess the .Net Core was not installed properly. Reinstalling helps clear up the issue.

Many thanks!
