iLogic- assembly rule - part numbers update after design copy.

Hello,

Having trouble trying to figure out how to have my iLogic update the part numbers contained in the rule after a design copy or a save as.

-If the part number changes it causes the rule to fail because it can no longer reference the original part number.

-I cannot break the link of drawing number and file name either. It will mess with our numbering scheme rules and cause confusion.

How do you get:

Parameter("67003015-3:1", "d1000") = Width

To change to, (example):

Parameter("24003020-3:1, "d1000") = Width

After a copy design or a save as?

The number after the dash will always be the same along with the dimension name.

here is the answer.

-Change the names of the parts in the browser.

-Change the part numbers in the rules to match the browser.

-- This will keep any design copies to be named the same in the assembly, thus removing the need for a part number rename in the rules.

- You can't use save as, as this will only make a new copy of the .iam and will reference old parts instead of creating new ones.

- Haven't found any other way to copy design and keep the rules besides iLogic Copy Design.
