idw to dwg export time very slow

HI  🙂

i using a inventor 2020   ,  update patch all done 🙂

 

The number of part file is about 2,500

i have cheked  style option  HIDDEN LINE. 

 

1111.jpg

now

export Autocad DWG (not inventor) time is 7min.  😞    😞   😞 

 

is it normal?

this is autodesk sample file   ,  The other file is the same condition

total assembly :  workspace forder  and name is  Complete Building.iam 

idw file name is  workspace forder test.idw

Hi! The number of components is probably not that important in this particular workflow. It is about the amount of geometry or edges. In this case, I bet there are probably million of edges in the 3D and 2D. Do you mind if I ask what you are trying to do in the exported dwg file? If you want 3D as wire, you can simply export the Inventor iam file as AutoCAD dwg. Then you can open the dwg file in AutoCAD. Would it work better?

Hi @Anonymous,

 

Could you please check if Johnson's suggestion works for you? I tried export the Complete Building.iam (several files missing need to be resolved). to autoCAD dwg, which takes 300s on my machine.

To investigate the idw to dwg file, could you please attach the test.idw file? I didn't find it from the link.
