Hi all,
I have an Problem with Inventor 2014, I have attached pictures for info. I created an 3D model and the proceeded to create an drawing as I was almost finished with drawing the customer decided to make a change (added Lifting hole on model and only lifting holes) when the drawing updated the whole drawing was a disaster need to create a completely new drawing.
Any assistance in fixing this problem would be greatly appreciated!

Hi
-Niels- has it.
For future, create a design view rep in the assembly/part. That has the surfaces visibility turned off.
I find that sometimes I don't have to do anything, just create the view rep, I have found that the default view rep can become a little indecisive at times when it comes to showing/hiding surfaces. This in turn throws all the views out and creates chaos, but turn it off again, and it all pops back into place.
Naturaly, set the drawing view to the new view rep.
Thanx to all for the input!
I have turned off all planes in model and there was no effect on drawing views. The planes show on drawing view but not in model space.
Any reason for that? It seems that these planes are causing my problem but how do I fix this?
Thanx again!
Hi
Just double check, I am not aware of workplanes causing such disruption, they normally show up as lines, surfaces useually display such behaviour.
Did you create A design view rep, turning off the visibility of the Work planes and surfaces?
After doing that, change the drawing view to reflect the new design view rep.
If it still does not update, check to see if the "Associative" checkbox is active.
If none of the above work, then we have to look deeper into the issue.
There is the manual way of doing it.
switch off the associative option
Find the offending workplane/surface in the Model tree.
RMB switch off "visibility"
