How to open sat file from measuring report

Hi,

I get sat files from a cooperator, from a measuring machine.

I have trouble opening those files in Inventor.

I'm attaching an example file.

Can anyone tell me, how to open those files?

Are you sure they are being exported correctly? When I open those 2 files there seems to be no model data in them.

There is no model inside.

Those files contain only points from the measuring machine.

Are you trying to view the point data?  A .sat file is essentially a text file and can be viewed with any standard text editor.  I was able to view the contents of one of these with Notepad.

Opening with Notepad reveals that the files were created using ACIS v24.

Since lawsuit between Spatial and Autodesk - Autodesk products only open ACIS v7 or earlier.

Have the source set their software to ACIS v7.  (Better yet - get in STEP or IGES format.)
