How to note scale on drawing?

Boy, ... am I out of practice! Smiley Mad

I am trying to make a note of the scale of a drawing

but I have forgotten how to enter the value.

I searched my text (Waguespack) without luck.

Would someone please step me through it.

Thanks

Do you want it placed around the view, or in the Title Block?

If you want it around the view, check these options when placing the view (looks different in IV2018 compared to older versions)

Thanks for that but I am not looking to set the scale for the drawing.  I am looking at placing a note on the drawing advising the user of the scale.

The annotation would read, "SCALE: 2:1" or somesuch, but I seem to recollect that the value can be set in the annotation from Inventor - note written manually.

Well, naturally you can only set the scale based on one view.

Personally I'm using an addin by the Danish company NTI to create a custom iProperty with the scale of the first view printed. I can then use that iProperty to use in a standard annotation.

That is doable by iLogic as well, but I seem to have thrown that piece of code away.

I tihnk it was posted on InventorTrenches blog at some point.

Edit:

@-niels- Wasn't that added in 2018? Or has that been there for multiple versions? Smiley Surprised

Thanks for that.  I knew it was there somewhere.

Screenshot is from IV2016.
It does require that there's a view on the drawing and it will only give the scale of the first view in the list.

I see.

Probably missed the change because we were using iLogic to handle it back in 2013 when I started using IV.

Ever since then we just migrated and missed it
