How to get additional templates

Good day, I'm a student and I'm new to Autodesk/inventor, the whole thing. In one of my study units, inventor professional 2019 is used but I have 2020 version. How do I get the additional templates like the 2019 version in my study unit? My 2020 version only has the en-US template, but the one in my study unit has en-US, English, Metric, Mold Design, Old Templates.

Welcome to the Autodesk Community..

So if your school is using Inventor 2019 and you have 2020..   When in school you are not going to be able open creation files because Inventor is not backwards compatibility.   Yes Inventor 2019.3 or 2019.4 version will open certain Inventor 2020 files but you can't do anything with them.

But to answer your questions, you have those same templates in 2020 as you did in Inventor 2019.  Out of the box templates are stored here C:\Users\Public\Documents\Autodesk\Inventor 2020\Templates   Is that where you're pointed out templates to?

Hi! The unit specific templates can be found under "en-US" folder.

Many thanks!

Well actually, my school has inventor 2016/17/18 on their computers, but the one used in the study unit (it's like a textbook you get from school) is the 2019 version, but I understand what you are saying.

Yes that's what I was pointing out. I found them thanks, it's just that on the 2019 version it opened up that many more templates but on my screen it just showed the en-US folder. All I had to do was open that folder and the rest popped up😅. Like I said, still new here
