How to delete frame member?

Dear everyone,

I am asking for your help, because I cannot find the "Delete with design accelerator" button.

I am writing my thesis on an RC car, and I am making a few possible chassis options for my supervisor. However, I am quite new to designing a chassis, and I didn't take enough things into consideration. Now, I want to edit my chassis, but I don't have the option.  I wish to delete the highlighted pieces, and place two new tubes on the visible sketch lines. 

Is there a solution, or do I have to re-do the whole thing? Cause I have a main assembly with a lot of constraints, and I'm sure it will collapse too..

You can right click the pieces you want to delete in the browser tree.

The good news is you should not have to redo the whole thing. The issue here is that you are in the frame generator assembly, and to edit you need to be in the assembly where you placed the frame generator assembly. Go one level up and you should be able to see the "delete with frame generator" option when you right click.

Looking at your screenshot you were in the assembly where you placed the frame generator assembly. Frame generator is funny, when you select insert frame and create a new one it likes to create its own subassemlbly and sketch to reference.

Sorry for the delay in my response, I was commuting home. 

Also, I tried it on several levels, but I only have the "edit" option, not the "delete".

Also, I had my frame generated as Frame_'number', then I created a new assembly (vázkeret (means chassis)) and placed my frame into it. I have an edit option here, but no option to delete. I can only change the size, orientation, etc..
Then I have yet another assembly (not sure if it's necessary, but I wanted to make sure), and on this level I yet again don't have any options..:/

Would you be able to do a pack and go of your assembly and share it? Anybody here will be able to give more in depth answers looking at your dataset.

In your "vázkeret" assembly there are a couple frames. The second one (the back half)referencing the sketch in part "hátsó rész:1" seems to be showing the correct functionality. Right click on a member in the model browser and it gives you the "delete with frame generator" option. I was unable to find the original geometry for the first frame though. Searching through your files I was not able to find a part with the sketch geometry in it either. I suspect this is part of your issue. It appears that some of the data the frame was created with can no longer be found. This could happen if the frame is placed in an assembly that it wasn't originally created in. Do you know what happened to it?

 I don't really understand? My original geometry is in 3D_keret_2, so that shouldn't be an issue?

I did not see that file in the data provided. If that is the sketch the frame was built off of it doesn't look like it is in the right spot to me. I would expect to see it one level up. It looks like it is in the frame assembly when it should be in the assembly the frame was created in. Have you deleted and re-placed the frame at some point?

Now that is a mystery to me. I created the frame, and then made a new assembly, and placed the frame assembly in it. I don't remember deleting anything though, so I have no idea.

Anyway, I can see the problem. Is there a way to resolve it, or should I just bite the bullet, and do the frame again? Would I be able to do a FEA analysis of the original frame if I just suppressed the parts I wanted to delete?

Because frame generator is relatively quick, I'd just redo the assembly. There are faults in it at this point, and while it might be possible to recover, it is also possible to redo it quicker than you could recover. Since you said you're wanting to do the FEA in Solidworks it might be ok to just delete and export for your use in Solidworks. I haven't done much Inventor -> Solidworks models so I couldn't tell you how the functionality is. Is there a reason you want to do the FEA in Solidworks as opposed to Inventor?

Alright, thank you for your answers, then I shall try to remake the frame. I'm just a bit afraid of the constraints 😕 

I want to do it in Solidworks, because Inventor Student version doesn't have such an advanced FEA module, and my school has Solidworks licensed, also they can't really help me should I get stuck on a problem in Inventor FEA.

If you think Inventor FEA would be sufficient for my purposes, please send me a good tutorial, and I will try.
