Hi Experts

How can I add material to the I Part table in the attached model.

I need to choose material when I pull the assembly from content center.

Thanks

Hi @baliasM74U3,

You can add material as one of the iPart fields by going over to the properties tab and scrolling down and expanding the Physical tab. Unfortunately, it's not a dropdown - you need to type the material name exactly for it to work but there are ways around that such as using iLogic.

@baliasM74U3

Select the iPart table and set a column as material. Enter the material editor and double click the desired material. This material should now be added to the iPart table. For the rest of the members, copy the material name to each member. Alternately just get the material name and copy straight to the iPart table. Material added when iPart is in Factory scope does not seem to populate all the members when active.

When publishing ipart to content center ensure to select material as a key. This can also be done after publishing in the content center table, see image.

Hi @baliasM74U3,

Make sure you have a read/write CC library,

If you go to the content centre editor, right-click on your part in the editor, then select material guide. Click Next, Select Add Materials as New Family Members. Click Next, then select any materials you want available for the bolt. Next, Set any material aliases as needs be. Finally set up the differentiation options. Once done click next and then start. The materials have been added to your part.

The images below show the key steps.

I'll add a screencast once it has processed.

Here's the screencast - processed faster than I thought!

So embedding a screencast is still a pain, here's a link instead:  https://autode.sk/3rWbRAX
