How can a tire pattern be dimensioned in a drawing?

I have always only dimensioned flatted lines but when it came to dimension the tire pattern i was lost. Because it's not a "flat" pattern i don't know how to dimension the lines since the pattern is curved on the plane. I don't even know if you are supposed to dimension the tire pattern or not.

The use case for the drawing may lead to the workflow. I don't see an accurate way to dimension the tread pattern from that view, but maybe an iso view? You might also try making the tire track, or what the tire would leave behind if it had paint on it and dimension that way.

From symmetry it would be sufficient add the Quantity of the pattern.

All additional will lead into asymmetry I think.

How do you mean i don't fully understand, are you suggesting that I should just create a simple cube on a separate file and then emboss the same pattern from the tire to the cube so I can then add the view of that cube to the tire drawing to then dimension the pattern?

For quantity do you mean how many placements I used in the Circular pattern?

Like the same with a Flange with holes in steel structures.

Ahh yea true, I will add a text to the pattern where I will write how many placements it took.

Yes you can make another part to emboss that pattern on and dimension the other part. What is the purpose of the drawing and the dimensions? The goal is to communicate the design/intent and there may be a better or more accurate way to do that
