Help With Inventor 2018 and my Spacemouse enterprise

Hello everyone.

By now i have enjoying the new inventor pro 2018  and i love that program to bits especially when I'm using the Spacemouse enterprise system from 3Dconnexion.

When I had the old pro 2017 Inventor everything worked just fine, but when I got the new 2018 program I noticed that the custom commands I made for my Enterprise (the Number buttons you choose to activate a command) did not work anymore, the small picture of the command was gone only showing the name and when re-choosing the command nothing happens and when i push the number button it does nothing at all.

I am wondering if anyone here have the same problems and if this is a minor missing update for my 3Dconnexion mouse, although I just installed the latest driver. Or this is a minor bug in the new Inventor pro software and when will this be fixed?

Hello,

I am having the same issue. I contacted support at 3Dconnexion and they had me do a clean install. It did not correct the problem.

I submitted a log file 2 days ago and I am still waiting to hear back from support.

Here is the latest info from 3DConnexion:

Good Morning, your case was escalated to me and I am reaching out to my engineer to confirm this information.

The latest version of Autodesk Inventor supported by the 3DxInventor plugin is 2017.  I believe 2018 is in a beta phase still, and we will update our plugin for the release.

Support for 2018 Inventor will be added in future driver releases, however at this time we do not have an exact ETA on when that will be published.

Hi all,

please verify if the addin for Inventor is loaded:

The navigation for Inventor is native to the application, but the Add-In is necessary for the buttons to function properly.

  1. The Add-In can be found by opening a file and selecting the Add-Ins button found on the Environments tab in the ribbon .

 2. The 3DxInventor Add-In must be loaded, and it is recommended to be loaded automatically.

3Dconnexion replied with an update that worked for me.

In the add-in manager somehow the load behavior was unchecked.

I checked the boxes for Loaded/Unloaded and Load Automatically and the spacemouse is working correctly.
