Maybe Im doing something wrong, but I have really had some major issues with adaptivity lately. I created an assembly to confirm the issues. every time I edit a part in the part level and then go back to the assembly I get the error "A cross part association has failed" and when I go back to edit the projected geometry the lines are doing things that make no sense. All sketches are fully constrained.
I created a sample to see if anyone can help me figure this out. Its just a simple concrete foundation with 2 separate handrails on it, the center lines of the handrails are constrained 4" from the projected edge of the foundation and when I edit the length of the foundation the rails should move accordingly, sometimes they will if I toggle on and off "Adaptivity", but most of the time I just get the error.
Ill attach the assembly but I dont really know the right way to do it so you guys can open it. Do I just attach all the assembly files? Thanks

Hi @Kerry.McInnes,
The easy to upload your assembly is to pack and go and then upload a zip folder as this is something easier solved once we can take a deep dive.

Heres the assembly files. Please let me know if this works

Hi Kerry,
Many thanks for sharing the files! I see the issue. I guess it may be related to Foundation being adaptive also. Try this and see if it works better.
1) Turn off adaptive on Floundation:1.
2) Edit Rail1_SK -> edit Sketch1 -> delete the projected sketch -> project the side face from Foundation again. Make sure the missing constraints are added.
3) Repeat step2 on Rail2_SK.
Many thanks!

I did all that you listed and when I came back into the assembly environment it didnt give me an error, so that was good but, the frame members did not update with the sketch geometry which is really strange. (See Attached)

Hi! Did you add the deleted constraints to the sketch?
Many thanks!

OK, I didnt have adaptivity turned on for the frame members, so now it works.
Just curious, why did I have to delete the original projected geometry from the foundation to get this to work? Do you always have to do that or did I do something out of sequence in the original modeling? Thanks

Yes I did Re-Constrain everything.
Just tried to make another edit and it wouldnt update, so im having to toggle on & off the "Adaptivity" in order for it to update the assembly. Do you know of any reason why it would be doing this?

Hi Kerry,
In theory, you don't need to delete the projected sketch and recreate it. Something was wrong. For some reason, it seems that the projected face lost connection with the source face. If you can reproduce it from scratch, please let us know asap.
Many thanks!

This is the third time I’ve re-created the same situation. I can do it again and try to post it as a screencast so you can see exactly what I’m doing. The thing that strikes me as odd is it will only update the parts if I toggle on and off the adaptivity.
