Hand->Fingers-> wrapping the tube

Hi!

I have got a hand with fingers.
I want the fingers to wrap the tube smoothly

I have used the tangent constrain, but it doesn't work the way I have expected.

Assembly and screecast are attached.

Thank you in advance!

What if you add 3 Transitional constraints rather than Tangent?

@JDMather, thanks for your reply!

Does your approach work for you?

I have tried your solution and it doesn't work.
Do I miss something?
The screen cast is attached.

Thanks!

Its already working in your first posts and in those files you provided.... There are just multiple solutions and Inventor just isn't defaulting to the one you want....

The fingers can be manually moved to change to the different solutions..

I didn't do anything in this image but click on the finger joints and attempt to drag them so Inventor picked alternate solutions.. I did not create any additional constraints nor did I delete any of yours..

You need to continue adding constraints (likely angle constraints,etc...) if you want to reduce the total number of solutions to the only one you find acceptable..

Worked for me.

First thing I notice in your latest Screencast is that you have not scrolled down to the end of the Relationships list so that I can see your current constraints.

Second thing I notice is that your fingers are far away from the cylinder - Transistional constraint is very complex - move closer before attempting.

Third thing I notice is that you are selecting the finger segments first - don't do that, select the cylinder first and then the finger segment.

@mcgyvr, thanks for your reply!

@JDMather

your approach works perfect.

1)I moved fingers closer

2)I select the tube first.

Thanks and  have a good day!
