Certain transparent materials + Ray tracing results in errors with backgrounds

I encountered this error when I tried rendering an assembly that I currently am working. A large number of transparent materials, when ray tracing is applied, cause custom background images not being rendered behind them.

 Render 12-11-18.png

The materials that I have tested and result in this issue are

  • PMMA Plastic
  • Polycarbonate, Clear
  • SAN Plastic

Glass doesn't cause this issue so I'm currently using that as a work around. Also the quality level of the ray tracing does not have an affect on this. Is this just a known issue with the rendering capabilities in Inventor or are there settings that could fix this?

Hello @Anonymous,

It is incorrect to me, will work with project team to understand it better.

Please stay tuned.

By the way, have you tried the workflow in the Studio, it should be work nicely.

Thanks!

Thank you for the response. I've only just recently started exploring Inventor's more advanced rendering options, so I'll give the studio a shot.
