Guide: How to set default units.

I've seen this alot on the forum lately, with people asking how to change the units in a documents which is good, but if you make multiple parts for an assembly it gets annoying fast.

Here's how

Launch Inventor

On the dashboard, click the gear on the advanced templates slider.

A diologue box will open, showing you the option of mm or inches, and the drawing spec of different countries, select the one you want and done.

Now start a part and it will be in whatever unit you selected.

May this help you in your future endeavors.New Picture (2).jpg

Hi! This can be done with a few clicks of buttons. Go to Tools -> Application Options -> File -> Configure Default Templates -> select the standard -> Ok. A new set of Standard templates will be created based on your selection. You don't need to manually change it every time.

This is also documented on Autodesk Knowlege Network.

Many thanks!

Doing the above (in the OP) sets it permanently, and does not need to be repeated, and is actually less steps to achieve the same result.
