Getting open ipt/iam into current assembly

We work on large assembly files. Trying to add components can take a couple of minutes. I used to use SolidWorks which the insert command the option to add an "open" component, or browse. In inventor I've found the most convenient way to add an open component is to copy and paste. I think this is slow because it uses the clipboard. Another option is to "place" it which is faster, but that's a bunch of clicks through our folder hierarchy. I also know of using the "Insert to CAD" from vault. Are there any other methods to get a subcomponent into an assembly?

@snappyjazz

Hi, if you have a component open, I believe you should still be able to add it to an assembly as long as it is saved.

Hi! Or split the document windows and drag and drop. Save is not required.

Many thanks!
