Gaming Mouse and Inventor Professional 2016

Hello,

I recently purchased a ZhiZhu ET X-08 gaming mouse, which appears to only have two programmable buttons. I am unable to program these buttons to act as hotkeys for commands I frequently use. Can you help?

I would suspect the number of people in this Inventor forum that use that specific mouse might be few and far between, or none at all. You may have better luck contacting the mouse manufacture or support team for assistance.

Did you install the driver and configuration software that came with the mouse?

I would look into the 3DConnexion CadMouse.

it integrates seamlesslyt with Inventor. different commands can be assigned based on your inventor environment. ie Assembly, Part, Drawing, Presentation, Sketch, etc...

I use a Razer Naga 2014 which has ~16 buttons, even that mouse won't bind to a CAD program.  It would need to be done in the software provided with the mouse, which is obviously geared for gaming.

There is a way to do it though, use the mouse software to map your mouse buttons to something like NUMPAD1 and NUMPAD2, then in Inventor bind NUMPAD1 and NUMPAD2 to Extrude and New Sketch or whatever you want to use.  Can't see why that wouldn't work?

I use a Logitech G602 wireless gaming mouse with 12 programmable buttons and it works very well with inventor.

I had to use the mouse software to program the buttons to match the keyboard shortcuts in inventor and changed some shortcut keys to make it easier.

I have one at work and one at home and both are setup exactly the same with an export/import file with the mouse software.

I swear by the CADMouse for Inventor.  Being able to map buttons to actual commands rather than just keyboard shortcuts is genius.
