Hey Everyone, are you ready to share your images for today's edition?

Well, first here's a reminder for our upcoming themed edition.

Upcoming Friday pictures Theme:

When: 9th of February

What: HeartValentine themed Friday pictures Heart

Make something to show your love and appreciation... Candy, flowers, Chocolate...

Join in the fun, we all love a little Friday distraction!

With that out of the way, let's show some pictures.

First off, a photograph of the actual lasercut pieces of the render i showed last week:

As for my renders, i'm still not happy with the results of my personal project so that has to wait a bit longer still.

Instead i made a fun Inventor Raytrace render of a model inspired by @buchnich's C-shaped spiral:

I hope i can get my personal project finished soon, i really want to show that off... Smiley Frustrated

And i really need to get started on a valentine themed image too... ah well, all in good fun.

Have a nice weekend!

I might do a render later. But here's some of what I've been doing this week.

Redrew this lamp from old (read: ancient) swedish drawings.

Hello Everyone,

@YannickEnrico i really like that lamp post!

Not had much to do this week. So modeled a radiator in my room.

@S_May: Again a nice fluid simulation, your oil looks very nice. (3DS Max, i pressume?)
The depth of field is bothering me a bit though... a bit too much for my taste.

@YannickEnrico: Ancient... is that a gaslight streetlamp?!?! Ancient indeed. Smiley LOL

Looks good though, would need some serious weathered textures to convey that ancient feeling.

@Thomas_Savage: i've seen a radiator posted before, was that you as well?

@-niels-  I don't think it was me. But when i get bored i model anything around me. So could of possibly been me.

@S_May that is brilliant!

@-niels- - The drawings were ancient. Ancient enough to use steel grades I've never heard about, although that might just be a Swedish thing? I'm fairly certain the blacksmiths who have actually produced this, have modified it for electrical usage.

In my house I saw a capped drain sticking out of the floor in the bathroom closet. Naturally I was intrigued so I removed all the shelves and took a sledge hammer to the walls to see what was hiding. Basically an excuse to destroy sheet rock, a favorite past time of mine. I found plumbed hot and cold water lines capped in the wall ready for installation of a shower! The original owners planned to but never got around to it and just put sheet rock over it, painted, and added shelving.

I modeled up the wood framing and existing bathroom fixtures to start figuring out square footage and how much tile I'll need. While I'm at it might as well redo the sink area, wrap around to the back splash, and put in heated floors. Going to be so fancy. Happy Friday!

Modeling the pool balls last week got me thinking about modeling my cue.

Not just a pretty rendering model, but actually model it the way it is constructed.

Start with blank stock, construct the points by building up layers of mitered veneers, "glue" everything up and turn it down to the final taper.

I started with my personal cue and was so pleased with the results (after numerous trial & errors), that I decided to build up a couple ideas that I 've had in my mind for a number of years.

I may just have to dust off the Bridgeport and build a couple of these.
