Hi,

Just want to ask what does the error means? Suddenly got the error after applying frame generator.

I did found similar error discussion http://forums.autodesk.com/t5/inventor-general-discussion/frame-generator-not-inserting-part/td-p/37...

But, was not solved.

Are the required CC libraries in your Project File? Just because they are installed doesn't mean you have access to them.

Did you click on the link in my post, it will bring up a video showing what needs to be done. Most likely you don't have any CC's added to your Project File.

Hmm. Perhaps I'm right, perhaps I'm wrong.

The above path to your file location is very long. Could you try with another location?

The path shown, is the default install path and locations for a stand alone install of Inventor. Nothing wrong with the length, look carefully at your Project File. Make sure that all required Libraries as well as all the locations that you are stored files are in the Project File path.

Possibly the "Save Error" is the folder that these parts reside in, or want to be placed in are a Library folder. Check your Project File to see that this folder is not a Library folder, if so, then change it to a Read/Write as all Library Folders by default are Read-Only.

Blair

We were talking about the location where the actual frame generator model is located.  Not any of the installation path/location.

The O/S limit is 254 characters but that doesn't mean that Inventor still has some old pre Vista code for path length.

Hi Blair,

Here is the screen shoot of the Project dialog box. Ever since I am using a Rad/Write Style Libraries.

Your "Styles" Library is set to Read/Write but all the items that are in your Library folders are read only unless they are set to Read/Write. These are two completely different items.

The "Styles" Library control items such as your Dimension Styles. The low item that you have high-lighted will be read only. These are places to store IPT and IAM files that you will need for your work but don't want any changes to be made to them.
