Font Size Issue

I need to have the greater/less-than-or-equal-to symbols in a note.  I use alt-242 & alt-243 to generate them and they come in as Cambria Math font (which is fine) but they're tiny.  The symbols don't respond to font type changes.  All text is set to the same size in this screenshot...

To add the peculiarity, when I export to PDF the Cambria Math font is huge and upside-down/backwards, though the tiny character spacing is maintained.

If I print to PDF (blech!), it comes out as it's shown on the IDW with the tiny font.

I believe this is a 2020 issue as we've recently migrated from 2019.  Can anyone replicate this on their end?  Better yet, can anyone provide a solution?

Hi Karl,

Have you installed 2020.1 update? I could be wrong but I vaguely remember we resolved an issue like this. Another thing to try is to export the drawing to DWF. Does it work better? Another possibility is that you may need to install the proper language pack for the Acrobat Reader. Without it, certain fonts or strings may not be displayed correctly.

Many thanks!

Hi

Strange one.

A temporary fix:

Edit the text, highlight everything and change the font to your desired font.

You have one chance at this, if you edit the text again, it defaults back to the "Math Font"  so you have to change it back again.

This is with version 2020.1.

Exporting to PDF is the lesser issue.  Most important is to get the font to display correctly on the IDW to begin with.  Cambria Math is coming out an order of magnitude smaller.

If I change all text to Arial, one of two things happens;

  1. The Cambria Math symbols remain the same--still Cambria Math
  2. the plus/minus turns to ` and diameter turns to n.

These symbols are AIGDT font when initially inserted.

Hi

Still not the most graceful, you will have to bypass the Diameter symbol when selecting the line of text.

Below is a screencast of the formatting, of the math font. (I did not include the Diameter) The other option is trying iLogic to auto-format a text string.

Has anyone found an actual solution for this size change?

Not a work around the actual solution?

Thanks

Hi! Do you have the correct font installed on your machine? What release of Inventor are you using? Please share an example that exhibits the behavior.

Many thanks!

Hi

What version of inventor are you running?

I just ran another test and it works perfectly, I am guessing it has been fixed with the latest service packs.

I tried with both the Arial font and the default Tahoma fonts.
