Hi Christian,

How big is the file? How much RAM do you have? Are you able to perform a simple FEA simulation?

Many thanks!

I am getting the same error.

I am running Inventor 2021. Update 1, HP workstation with 64 GB ram win 10.

Task manager shows memory use 35% only!

Error came after starting convergence setting, before tat the analysis was solved without any error.

I have a feeling that Inventor 2021 has some bugs, the same assembly did solve without convergence, then it did not solve with convergence setting for 3 days running, that is 72 hours of running!

Now after updating windows 10 2004, I tried again and it came up with memory error.

Above post I could attach only 3files, so now adding 4th file in this post.

Any help appreciated.

Regards

Parag

Thank you for your reply.

I could attach only 3 files, so I replied to my own post and added fourth file in above post.

The data set is large, so i wont be able to upload it here, but if you provide  email address I can send it to you by some other means. Like sharing from google drive.

I feel uncomfortable sharing the link here on forum.

Thank you once again

Parag

Looks small to me - just a few parts.

In any case, I would follow >>these guidelines<< in idealizing for analysis...

Hi! Please take a look at the #4 and #6 reply in the following thread.

Many thanks!

Thanks Johnson

I have a different issue than mentioned in your thread.

I get solution in less than 15 minutes if I do not touch Convergence settings.

I have attached a screenshot of results, the time of creation will show some are done within 15 minutes.

Issue starts only when I try to use convergence!

I ran for more than 72 hours on two different machines and it did not solve. Couple of time I got memory error, and couple of times I got some other error which shows some line elements or something like that. I did not save a screenshot.

Should I just pack and go assembly I am trying to solve, or should I send a full project folder. It is 2.08 GB.

Regards

Parag

I do not have any weld in the assembly I am trying to solve.

Folder is 2.08Gb.

I will be sharing it with Johnsonshui, and request him to share it with you.(I assume he may have your contact!)

Thanks

Hi Parag,

You can share it with me. But, I am not sure if it will help. I guess 2.8GB dataset is probably too big for Inventor FEA to handle. Have you tried it on Inventor NASTRAN?

Many thanks!

Thanks, Johnson

The complete project folder is 2.08 Gb including completed analysis.

The main assembly files and parts may be much smaller.

I am not sure you just need the assembly and parts or the complete folder.

Attached assembly and part files after removing FEA data size is 8.5MB

Hi Parag,

I took a quick look at the assembly. I think there is too much detail geometry for simulation. You need to simplify it. Remove the unnecessary holes, cutouts, and the weld blocks. You can use Shrinkwrap command to remove the details. Then run FEA on the simplified part. If it works, you could add some detail back.

Many thanks!

Tried this. Still Not enough Memory Error.

I have also attached actual memory usage showing 20% usage.

I do not understand which memory is not enough?

Hi! I guess there is a bug here. Somehow some geometry causes the FEA to fail (overflow). Please share the shrinkwrap file also.

Many thanks!

Hello Johnson

After installing Autodesk certified driver analysis solved, but I started getting some other issues, so had to go back to DCH driver.
