Face Fillet Hold Line

Is there a method to create a hold line for a face fillet?  For example, I have a curved face and a planar face that I want to fillet between.  I've split the faces with sketch lines where I want the fillet to blend into the existing faces.  I've played around with a variable radius fillet, but a hold line would give more accurate results.  I know a screen shot would help, but I make one at the moment.

Maybe you should use the split command first to separate the faces or edges you want to fillet.
