"There is a problem with Windows Installer package. A DLL required for this install to complete could not be run"

Here is a screenshot of what i see.

Anyone have a solution for this ?

I tried to disable the firewall/ antivirus, but no change.

I think that you haven't downloaded all the install files.

Welcome to the community...

To add to admaiora posting..  Are you trying to install your applicaiton uising the Install Now or download manager method?  If so stop and use the Autodesk Virtual Agent and follow the download links to your application.  First dOwnload all the parts for your software.  Then go to your download folder and extract (double click) on part 1 and after a few seconds the extraction will prompt you to extract to C:\Autodesk.  Once the extraction is finished the installation will start.

Its recommended to download the files via the Autodesk Virtual Agent..

And make sure you have downloaded all files..

Inv 2016 is 3 files that need to be downloaded.. After all 3 are complete double click on the one with an exe extension to start the install.

Nope.. The first file should start the install and unzip the other 2 files automatically..

Did you download with the virtual agent?

Did you try a clean uninstall after your first issues and prior to trying again?

Have you restarted your computer to make sure there are no hung processes,etc..?

Do you have local admin rights on that computer? or click "run as admin" on the first exe file?

Yes, i used the the virtual agent to download the 3 parts. (the 3 files are .exe )
I just restarted my computer and tried again, the first file could unzip the other 2 files automatically but when the installation started it display the same error message as before (There is a problem with this windows installer package. A Dll required for this install to complete could not be run. )

Hi

What operating system are you installing on?

It it a new build?

Reason I ask, I had issues with Windows 8.1 a while ago, and the Microsoft system updates would not install correctly, this affected the Inventor install, which would not work until I had repaired my OS. (This was a new build)

Hello everybody

I have the same issue:

I'm trying to install Inventor Pro 2016 Student on windows 10 (x64), and the same problem occurs.

I tried to dowload from "install now" and from "autodesk virtual agent" (3 files), but it doesn't worked.

I tried "run as administrator" and "run with windows7 compatibility" on the setup of decompressed files from the "autodesk virtual agent's" file, with no success.

I checked the log file to get answers, last lines are reported below:

Installing Microsoft Visual C++ 2012 Redistributable (x64) Update 4  SUCCEEDED

Installing Autodesk® Material Library 2016:   ADSK_EULA_STATUS=#1 MUILANG=en-us SETUP_PACKAGENAME="Autodesk Inventor 2016" SETUP_PACKAGECODE={8CB42675-2000-4FA1-AA77-40FCDFF783AF} SETUP_UNINSTALLKEYS=1 SETUP_ISLANGUAGEPACK=0 SETUP_PRODUCTDEPENDENCIES=";;;;" PACKAGEUPI={885CB096-0DBB-411F-AE76-39C6C0B5929C} ADSK_SOURCE_ROOT="C:\Autodesk\Inventor_2016_English_Win_64bit_dlm\" FILESINUSETEXT="" REBOOT=ReallySuppress ADSK_SETUP_EXE=1

Install    Autodesk® Material Library 2016    Failed    Installation aborted, Result=1603

Apparently, this is a frequently encountered issue, but I haven't found a solution. Can someone help me ?

Thanks
