Empty Material Library

I've been trying to synchronise my template files & style library and noticed that the Inventor Material Library now appears empty. The Project paths and Design Data paths appear correct.

How do I restore the Inventor Appearance Library?

Hi! The appearance library seems corrupted. Is this library shared by other users and also multiple releases of Inventor can access the same library? You may need to uninstall Inventor and reinstall it to get the fresh new Inventor Material Library.

Many thanks!

Thanks for the reply.

This appearance library is working ok on other PC's in our office - is there a way to replace the corrupt appearance library on my PC with a copy of one that is working?

some further information - after opening Inventor:

- if I open a file that used the Inventor appearance library then the library works as normal, and continues to work for new files

- if I start a new file the Inventor appearance library is empty, and remains empty even when opening an older file that used it

Hi! You could simply get the good library (Inventor Material Library .adsklib) from the Design Data folder on other machine and paste it to your machine. It should work.

Many thanks!

Thanks for the reply.

So, I replaced the whole Material folder with a copy that was known to be good - but it made no difference.

I then changed the pathway in the Projects settings to a copy in a different location - and it's now working.

I'm please that I now have a solution, but it would be nice to have a better understanding of what actually caused the issue.
