Electrical coil

Hello all,

Currently I'm making a dynamo and need to draw a coil (electrical coil) but I can't find any information on the net on how to do this.

I used the pattern command but it will make all extra parts (coil can have up to 2000 windings). This slows the computer down.

Is there a command I can use to make a coil around a core and makes layers of wire?

Regards,

Hans

Does it really need to be modeled in such detail? Why not just make it a texture?

Hi!

No... there's not such a command to do that, and you don't need it.

Just model a solid representing only the external layer of the wires, or just apply one texture.

This kind of elements will slow down a lot the system with no reason. Just substitute that for a cleaver method

Autodesk apply that method in several things to save memory and increase performence (like you have in the treaded holes, in nuts and srews, get it?)
