Elastic movement of a membrane

Hey!

I have a chamber divided to a pneumatic and to a hydraulic part with an elastic membrane in the middle.

Every time the pressure changes I wanna make the membrane undergo a stress and reflect the respective movement (pressurized/depressurized).

Could that be feasible for simulation?

Cheers,

Manos

The FEA code in Inventor Pro is limited to small deformation, linear elastic problems.  Think a cantilevered steel bar loaded below yield, not compressing a rubber bumper.

It sounds like your problem will require large deformations and nonlinear materials.  Take a look at the Nastran-InCAD or the Simulation Mechanical packages to see if they are a better fit your problem.

Hi! You might be able to use adaptive part to do that. But, it will be limited to sketch or sketch-based feature. It could be tricky to define the shape and use the appropriate constraint to drive the shape change.

Many thanks!
