Edit sketch in assembly

is there a way to edit a sketch in an assembly? If I open a part up in an assembly and RMB the sketch I need to work on it only gives me the option to copy or create note. I would like to be able to edit the sketch right in the assembly.

Try editing the part (RMB on the part and click
edit) and then editing the sketch.

thanks Kathy, i figured out why I couldn't. The part I wanted to work on was open on another machine, therefore I couldn't edit it.
