Hello Inventor Users,
How do I change the size of my dimensions in an Inventor Drawing? As you can see from the image below, I need to increase the size the dimension text.
I'm changing the size (Manage > Styles Edition > Dimension > Architectural > Text tab > Size) but when I add the dimension, it still remains the same size. I've also attached a video to show what I'm doing.
Thanks for the help,
Jeff Jensen

Hi! By default, most of the text objects (annotation, dimension, and others) reference Note Text style. As a result, the text size is controlled by Note Text style. If you want a dimensional specific text size, you need to either change Note Text style (the referenced Text style) or create a new Text style and have the Dimension style referenced the new Text style.
If you still cannot figure out, I will show you an example.
Thanks!
You are better off going into the styles and standard editor
and creating your own text style.
Then make this new style the default for your templates. This way everytime you start a new drawing, this is the text style that is used.
Then you won't have this issue again.

Hello Inventor Users,
I'm having problems with inconsistent text sizes (see highlighted symbols and tolerances) when I change the note text size, it doesn't change all the annotations.
I think the problem happens when I use feature dimensions (Annotate tab > Retrieve). I have two sheets one 8.5x11 the other 11x17 paper size. I wanted to use the same feature dimension in both sheets, just use the view to adjust the annotation/text size.
thanks,

Hi @jefferyjensen!
The sizes of the tolerance are controlled by the ('Styles-Editor' > 'Dimensions' > 'Default (ISO)') as shown below: You can see the updated sizes of the tolerances in the 2 figures:

There are multiple such 'Default (ISO)' locations/menus in the styles editor which make it quite complex to navigate and update with a fine-tooth comb. Hope they make it a little more user-friendly in the styles editor:

It's absurd how difficult it is to do such a simple thing as changing the font size. Also, for the dimension text, for me at least it doesn't change when you update the dimension text size. Instead, I need to change the dimensions for the labels/notes/standard under the "Text" not "Dimensions".
I would say time to go use Solidworks, but it's not really any better over there.
