Difference in weight on part list (assembly and insert as sub-assembly)

Hello,

After creating an assembly I inserted this assembly in a the main assembly this went well, but when i was making the IDW-file then i notice something sttrange.

The weight (noted in the Part list) of de sub-aassembly was on the sheet of the main assembly about 375 kg, but when i'm creating an new sheet for the sub-assembly the part list on this sheet noted 48kg, for the same assembly.

I'm trying to find where this goes wrong, but i'm not finding it.

Don't understand why this and how this happens.

Does someone konw why this happens? And most of all how can i get the weights the same.

Greeting, Joop

Sounds like two drawings are reference to different mass property.

Please open that assembly, iProperty -> Physical and update, what is the value listed there?

Thanks!

Hello,

i found where the mass of 300kg came from. I made a box (extrusion) so i could create a frmae to use framegenerator.

This extrusion had a mass of 300kg. So now i know where this came from, but how can i keep this mass from the part list?

thanks, joop

Best way, I think, is to make your box for Frame Generator a surface extrusion instead of a solid extrusion.  Then it will have no mass.

Hi Joop,

Please share the example here. The behavior does sound defective to me. Or, there is indeed slight variation in the geometry.

Many thanks!

Hello John,

share the sub-assembly? The main-assembly is too big to share.

Or do you what screenshots of the modelbrowser?

Greetings, Joop

Hi Joop,

I need to see the files exhibiting the bad behavior. Does the subassembly show the wrong value?

Many thanks!
