Hi,

How do I get the units or display it?

Please refer below images:

thank you and kind regards,

Hi @reymart.laranjo

The units are going to be based off of what the model was analyzed under. If you edit Units in the Design Tree (assuming they haven't been changed since the analysis) to see what the base units are.

Moment force will be the Force unit divided by the length unit.

So if your model is setup in N and meters, the moment will be N*m.

There is no option to turn units on or off with the plot.

Thanks,

James

Hi @KubliJ ,

this is my Units i've used for this test

 BoltedBeam.jpg

so my Moment units for this plot would be N-mm / mm and to get the actual Moment is

N-mm x the mesh size = moment? correct me if I'm wrong

thank you and kind regards,

Hi @reymart.laranjo

If you are just looking for the max moment force, you can look at the nodal results.

But if you are looking for the max moment for weld calculations, you leave in the /mm for the reaction force.

Fy is in units of force/distance, Shear is in the same force/distance and moment is in Force*distance/distance

Following the units inside the squareroot in the screenshot above= (N*mm/mm/mm+N/mm)^2+(N/mm)^2

We can see that the force per distance is still required. And if I recall correctly, Vince says it is mesh independent, so element size is not necessary to solve.

Thanks,

James
