Open your part and rebuild all (Manage tab > Update panel > Rebuild All), or just click on the Update button.  Inventor will generate multiple errors that need to be fixed before you can scale this.

Notes:

  1. You can use Direct Edit > Scale to do the scaling directly on the bodies in this file instead of using Derive with scale in another file.  Either method should work, once you get the errors fixed.
  2. Did you know that you can simply edit a Move Body feature and change the original distances/angles to get it where you want it?  No need to keep adding new Move Body features.

thanks for the direct edit thing everywhere else I looked said only derive could scale it down

another thing is that whenever I try to edit any of the problems it comes up with the same string of errors

That's normal.  As you correct the errors, the list gets shorter and shorter until it's gone.

the problem is that the act of trying to fix the errors brings up the errors and wont actually fix the error I wanted to fix

Not sure how to help.  Certainly you should start with the error closest to the top of the feature tree and work your way down.

Of course, all the other errors remain after you fix extrusion 9.  Simply click 'Accept' and move on to the next error.
