Derive not working with "Exclude selected components"

I'm trying to derive a bunch of assemblies to use in our building layout. When I'm not selecting any assemblies the "exclude" button is able to be clicked. However when I click on ANY item in the browser the button grays out and my only option is to "subtract" it. What am I doing wrong?

There are items in the image that are already excluded but I didn't set those and if I click on them I can do anything else and then can't go back to exclude.

Try with multisolid mode.

None of the modes will let me click that button. "Maintain each solid as a solid boy" disables that button and the "subtracT" button as well as the "intersect" button.

Hi Will,

Please go to Representation tab and see if the associative DV check box is checked.

Many thanks!

It was checked. No idea what that checkbox did since there was no tooltip for it lol
