Derive a sketch

Hello, is there way how to derive (link) sketch from another *.ipt file?

I have some custom flange which needs a (flat) sealing of corresponding dimensions and shape. I'd like to use same sketch which is used for the flange.

But I can't change status of this sketch in the Derived Part dialog. (Also can't change status for solid bodies - they are not needed there).

Thanks for help.

@j.pavlicek The sketch needs to be shared in the part you are deriving from (i.e. not consumed by a feature). To change the solids you should uncheck associative design views:
