Hello @creocatia3d are you trying to use HSM to cut a 2D shape from a sheet metal plate?
You can RMB on the part face and export to .dxf which most cutting machines take, is there a specific need you have?
If you can embed an image of what your're trying to do or record a screencast showing where you're getting stuck that would be helpful.

From what you have said, you are just looking to see a simulation of laser cutting in Inventor. I have created a sheet metal nesting layout and then setup and run a laser cutting simulation of all parts as a demo. See the screencast below.
