Are you using Vault or standalone?

You'll need to get the library into your vault then. The attached link shows the process.

1.

make sure that the active material library is the same your customer has used to customize his idcl on.

2.

make sure that you do not have your families hitting exactly the same family folder and filename of some families that YOU might have customized (ok, getting 6 am lotto is probably easier 😂)

These are technically the only requirements, besides same inventor release of the idcl files.

Hello,

i have got the complete Design Data Folder and the XX.idcl file from my customer.

A view month ago i have done the same for another customer. I already had the same problems there, but in the end it worked after a short time. Unfortunately, I just don't remember what I had done.☹️

The DesignData is not relevant for the IDCL files. Only the material library (so the .adsklib file that defines your current materials). Ideally you should have only one .adsklib file active (for both materials AND appearances) but this is depending on your customer setup, so we cannot be too strict with requirements.

Once you are sure that you are running on the same .adsklib as him, it should be enough to place his idcl file inside the folder where YOUR idcl files are, edit the inventor project and activate those IDCLs. At that point you should see his content center families as well.

I suspect we live in the same timezone, and probably even in the same country. If you are in trouble feel free to contact me 😉

Thanks for your support and now for all other users:

The error was in the display name of the .idcl file. It was different to the file name.
It was loaded correctly in library configuration, but because it was called "MyLibrary", I ignored it.
Resume: If something like this occurs, first check the properties.
😆

Best regards

...I allowed myself to post a small portion of the "problem" without disclosing sensitive data from Karl.

The library in the red circle has an idcl filename that is completely different, and we were both searching like stupids (at least I was) for something that was under our nose 🤣
