Custom Title Block and Sheet are not showing up on new drawings

I configured new title block and sheet format as instructed through autodesk knowledge base, but each time I create a new part and go to create a drawing i cannot see my title block. Why is that? I am thinking it is related to the fact that I do not save my part model and drawing in the workspace that inventor wants to put my files. I have folders set up for each customer. What is the solution to this?

You need to make sure that when you create the new drawing that you are using the proper template .idw; ie the one with the border and titleblock already active.

 

Do this by clicking the new file icon at the top (not using the drop down). It should open up a dialog box that allows you to select the type of file, and the template.

Hi! I think this is related to the drawing template you use. What template did you select? Does it have the proper title block defined? Could you show a simple example exhibiting the behavior?

Yes, I was able to do this, but it is frustrating that it does not automatically open in the new format or at least it does not give me an option to choose before it creates the drawing itself.

 

I am a previous solidworks user and I have to say they have it resolved more elegantly.
