Hi everyone,
I am currently trying to get my custom iProperty (DRW Number) into a custom column on my BOM.
I am however having some trouble and would appreciate your guidance! I have a top lvl assembly with 3 sub-assemblies. I want each individual sub-assy to have its own unique drawing number, which I will create in the custom iproperties.
The trouble I am having is for this unique column to reflect in my BOM. Not too sure what I am doing wrong. Below is the custom created iproperty field in the sub-assembly.
I then go to my BOM in the idw. created a new property
After this I format the column and select substitution at which point I select the custom iProperty.
This unfortunately leaves me with a BOM that has the column but not the data.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!
I will try to set it up in my template so that this will be automated if I use the right idw. iam. & ipt. (Once I fully understand this)
Thanks

You're going about this the right way, although case substition depends on the rest of the assembly and instance properties.
I have had some trouble getting it to work, and I went and deleted the iProperties from both parts and BOM, and then I reintroduced them.
You have to make sure that the custom iProperty name is identical on both drawing and assembly.
The property is not case sensitive, but it is character sensitive
Hi @YannickEnrico ,
Thanks for the reply!
So my custom created iproperty in the sub-assy file matches the column heading perfectly in my BOM. Whether I substitute or not when formatting the column doesn't change the result.
I am not too sure what I am missing. Could you perhaps do a step-by-step of what you did to accomplish this?
Thanks!
@YannickEnrico , Your instructions were clear but my understanding was not!
I re-read it and followed your steps stated and it now works.
Thanks a bunch man! Your assistance is greatly appreciated!
