Creating splines through points

Hi I have a drawing that has around 9,000 points. I need to connect a spline to all of the points, is there anyway for the program to create the spline without me having to go through each point individually.

In the past this has not been possible (to do so automatically/faster than selecting each point individually), but in the discussions the general idea is that you can reduce the sample to less points and still keep some small deviation:

Actually, I just found an external app here that might do the trick for you, to import coordinates from Excel automatically:

Hi! If the point coordinates (2D or 3D) are stored in an Excel spreadsheet, you can import the points and have lines or splines created accordingly. This workflow has been available for years. Start a new 2D or 3D sketch -> Import Points -> pick the Excel spreadsheet.

Many thanks!

Hi!

When you are in the 2D/3D sketch environment

1. Select "Points"

2. Find the Excel file

3. Press the "Options" button additionally

4. Select the import type (spline)

Hi!

Thank you very much for your very well explained effort here! Unfortunately, because I'm new here and very frustrated by my failed attempts, I didn't realize that my search would bring me to the Inventor forum instead of the Fusion 360. 360 has no such choices. So I've contacted Fusion support, thrown the problem in their laps and are hoping for the best.

Best regards -

You can report your need in the Idea Station portal for Fusion.

You can also search for extensions in the AppStore. Eg:
https://apps.autodesk.com/FUSION/pl/Detail/Index?id=3044478757760121899&appLang=en&os=Mac
https://apps.autodesk.com/FUSION/pl/Detail/Index?id=3336491865802949642&appLang=en&os=Win64

If there is no such function, then technical support will not conjure it up.
