Using AI2018, is it possible, apart from manual 'thread cutting' using an helix and a profile, to create a thread in a part which has actual grooves? Using the thread functionality you see an 'image' of a thread pasted on the face. I thought that was to reduce file size but that it was underpinned by the details of the thread required which could be produced for real using an STL file. Recent work with a 3D Printer blows away that idea. 😞
Putting the question another way, is it possible to produce an STL or similar file for 3D Printing which will result in the thread being printed?
Thanks

Search in the web for "Thread modeler" and install it. (I have here only IV 2015).
Here you can see how it works.
[EDIT, later addition]
Download for IV 2018, 2019 and 2020
(I'm not sure if you need urgently IV Professional and/or which version you have)

I have to admit - I was expecting a much shorter answer - "NO."
