Copy Features and Bodies

rpayton_2798_0-1725959359110.pngrpayton_2798_1-1725959716445.png

I am trying to copy the part that was created on the YZ plane to the offset work plane and center it on the endpoint of the sketch on the XY plane for a loft or a sweep depending on modifications. The problem is when I copy it I can't unlink the two parts to move one without moving the other. What am I doing wrong?

Hi!

Since this model has 3 parts, it should be an assembly, or at least, a multisolid (3 independent bodies).
If you have a multisolid, you will have separated bodies and you can move them independently.

Anyway, if you want to design all in one piece, check this option in the video below:

This example is simple because, as @CCarreiras showed, it has symmetry.

Otherwise, you can use the Direct Edit tool and select all surfaces in one space to move.

The move solid tool is for solids, not spaces.
