Sheet metal bend marks swapped

Some time ago a colleague made a 2D-drawing of a sheet metal part with 2 bends in it. Somehow Inventor has swapped bend marks in the flat pattern, and as a result the part is bend the wrong way. How is it possible that Inventor has swapped bend marks and how could we prevent this to happen in the future?

Hi!

If you change the flat pattern view from FRONT to BACK, the bend notes will swap.

Tip: you can use "Define A-side" to tell inventor what's the top direction (UP).
Then in drawing, if you use the FRONT direction for the flat pattern view, the bend notes will be ok, but if you change the flat pattern view to BACK, the bends notes will swap, because the part is upside down in the view.

I agree on what you say, but that is not the problem.

Inventor has somehow swapped bend notes.

The upper bend note tells me the part needs to be bended 106,4° up, but that particular bend has to be bend 90°.

The opposite is true for the lower bend, as you see in the side view of the bended part.

If I change the view from front to back, Inventor will show the marks with correct degrees.

The problem is, for what reason does the drawing show the wrong bend note at the wrong bend line?

btw, the A-side option has been used in this part.

Since it's missing the linked parts (508.199 and 508.221), i didn't checked the part in detail, and sent you a generic explanation.

After what you saying, i believe this is not a workflow problem, it should be a bug, so... report it.

I agree on you, it seems to be a bug.

I have reported it to the Autodesk Assistant.
