Hi Experts

I have lot of Autocad 3D blocks, from an old system. How can i convert them into a format that is compatable to open in Inventor.

Thanks

Basil

Try in Inventor (as long as you have Autodesk DWG TrueView also installed): Open > select AutoCAD DWG format > Options > Import > Open > checkmark "3d solids" option in the import wizard.

Here are a couple of other methods involving translations (export then import):

Hi Basil,

Other than importing the dwg file, a few options you may try. 1) Use ACISOUT to export it as SAT in AutoCAD. 2) Use STEPOUT to export as STEP. Then import it to Inventor accordingly.

Many thanks!
