Continuous measurement to obtain total length

Hello everyone

I would like to know if Inventor has a way of making continuous measurements where I click on several points and get the total length of the various segments between those points.
I would also like to know if there is a way of clicking on a random point in the middle of a plane (similar to points 6 and 7 in the attached example image).

There is a way, but it works a little different.  You can take measurements and add them to an accumulative value.

I'm not aware of any way to measure to a random point that you click on.

Hi Arnaldo,

 

As Andrew mentioned here, the Measure command can accumulate the measurement. There is another way to do it slightly more quickly. In the part, create a 3D Sketch, create 3D lines to connect those points. Then start Measure tool -> select the 3D line -> right-click -> select the whole loop. The loop length will be reported in the Measure panel.

Thanks for you help.

I had never noticed the - and + buttons. 🙄

That partially solves the question.

The only annoying part is having to click the plus sign for each measured segment.

It would be great if the cumulative value was shown automatically.

We can live without the possibility of clicking somewhere on a face, although it would make our job easier too.

I already knew about the 3D Sketch, but I don't think it is quicker, right?

Anyway, I'll test it again to compare.
