Let’s assume that the R2011 project Content Center file location was

C:\Users\<user name>\Documents\Inventor\Content Center Files\R2011

2011.png

And the Content Center file location of the same project after the migration to R2012 is

C:\Users\<user name>\Documents\Inventor\Content Center Files\R2012

2012.png

Try to copy the content of the folder

C:\Users\<user name>\Documents\Inventor\Content Center Files\R2011

And paste it under the folder

C:\Users\<user name>\Documents\Inventor\Content Center Files\R2012.

Then try to open the assembly with Inventor 2012.

I hope it helps.

Kind regards,

Alessandro

I did copy the contence of CC 2011 to CC2012 because indeed it was stll empty. but the assembly keeps asking for unresolved links when opening the file.

I had to point out all the links to the CC2012 ... hope I don´t have to do that with every assembly.

Did you check your Project File to make sure all of your libraries are available? If you are not familiar with this procedure it is the icon in the lower right corner of the Project File dialog box.

Hope this helps, Paul

Well, this should not happen if you keep the same folder structure under the Content Center File root folder.

By the way, if this will happen with other assemblies of the project as well, please, try the following.

In Inventor 2012, edit the Content Center File path for migrated project and redirect it to the R2011 location.

Save the project and try to open the assemblies again.

I hope it helps.

Kind regards,

Alessandro
