compression spring in design accelerator

Hi all

try to create a compression spring in an assembly using design accelerator,

Failing miserably. Spring disappears somewhere after I have specified the dimensional parameters,

either not being created or vanishing somewhere where I cannot find it.

What are the last steps to , save and insert the spring after the parameters have been specifed?

I don't want any calculations done at this stage, only the solid model of the spring created in the assembly.

If the worse comes to the worse, I will just create it as a separate part using the coil command, and insert it into

the assembly. I thought the design accelerator was supposed to simplify things!

Can anybody point me to a step by step simple tutorial

Hi Mike,

Please share some screenshots or the files you are working on. It should work. I guess there was some setting not done right.

Many thanks!

Johnson

got it eventually.

I see you have to no choice but to  run the calculation first and then if it doesn't work

adjust until it does work, then the spring seems to magically appear.

first time I have ever used design accelerator for springs.

Usually draw it manually as a part using the coil command.

I guess I just got into a comfort zone!! I will get used to this design generator!
