Coil Issues

Hello, I am trying to model a simple ramp cut into a piece of thick wall tubing.  Essentially, this part will be held in a CNC lathe while a live spindle mill comes in perpendicular to tube axis and cuts while traversing in or out.  When I try to create this with the coil command there's an additional angle to the surface and it's not perpendicular.

No matter what I do with the coil settings it doesn't work.

Are you using the Solid Sweep option to make the geometry?

I've been using the COIL option.  I only modeled the cylinder in there to show where the cutter would be.

Solid Sweep was made for exactly this kind of task.  You model the cutter, and the path for the cutter to follow, and sweep/cut.  I've attached one way to accomplish this (Inventor 2024 format).  In this case I used Curve on Face in a 3D sketch to create the helical path, but there are several other ways to get there.
