Certain hatch patterns not being printed

Anonymous
Not applicable

After upgrading to 2016, certain hatch patterns are not being printed. Look at following example

In Inventor:

1.jpg

PDF file:

2.jpg

It looks like certain hatch patterns are not getting printed regardless of line weight, colour, etc.

Anyone had similar issue?! Smiley Frustrated

Hi! Many thanks for providing an example! But, I cannot reproduce the behavior on R2/SP1 build 210. Could you take a snapshot of Inventor Help -> About? I want to know what exact build you have on your machine.

Thanks again!

I attached screenshots of the application manager showing the install and the build. Although I am not on the same build as you mentioned.?

Daryl,

SP1/R2 didn't install properly for you. You should be seeing build 210 in Help About.

Can you please look in your %temp% folder & zip up the most recent files called "Autodesk Inventor 2016 R2" "Autodesk Inventor 2016 SP1" "Autodesk Inventor Professional 2016 SP1.log" "Autodesk Inventor Professional 2016 English Language Pack SP1.log" & attach them here ?

Thanks

Chris

There is nothing in my temp folder. This is in the application manager folder and this is all I can find.

OK, could you also check under c:\windows\temp & C:\Users\XXXXX\AppData\Local\Temp ?

If you don't have any log files, then what happens if you simply double click that file ?

Thanks

Chris

Stress analysis
Shelby + enabler

But it still shows build 138

Daryl,

I believe this is due to a legacy issue where an incorrect version of 2016 Update1 was released for a short time & then when it was re-released it was possible to reapply the new Update1 without first removing the previous update1.

We'll investigate this further, but in your case I would suggest:

1. Remove R2 if possible - using this command in a cmd prompt:

"C:\Program Files\Autodesk\Inventor 2016\Bin\UninstallTool.exe" R2

2. Remove Inventor 2016 English Language Pack SP1 using this command:

Msiexec.exe /uninstall {C2B4B6F5-2010-1033-0064-E0CB94366A9C} /package {7F4DD591-2064-0001-1033-7107D70F3DB4} /qb

3. Remove Inventor 2016 SP1 using this command:

Msiexec.exe /uninstall {C2B4B6F5-2000-1000-0064-E0CB94366A9C} /package {7F4DD591-2064-0001-0000-7107D70F3DB4} /qb

4. Remove Inventor 2016 Update 1 (Inventor SP1 supesedes it)

Msiexec.exe /promptrestart /qb /uninstall {D9AD67F6-F5D8-4377-8826-01687953EF10} /package {7F4DD591-2064-0001-0000-7107D70F3DB4} SETUP=1

5. Reboot

6. Install R2 again.

Far from ideal I know....

That did it. Build is correct now and custom hatch patterns are indeed plotting now. Thank you to everyone for seeing this through to the end.

You need to go thru the same steps I did that Chris laid out a few post earlier. You should be on build 210.

You still have the release to manufacturing (or original) version.  Use the link I provided and update to SP1.  If you are on an active subscription then download and install R2/SP1 version.

Hello Chris,

I also have the problem with hatch patterns not working and SP not willing to install - so I tried out what you said but I couldn't reach to success - maybe

because I have a french language pack ?

Builing Design Ultimate 2016

On trying to run the R2/2016 I got the message to look here but the page isn't working ...

http:/knowledge.autodesk.com/support/inventor-products/troubleshooting/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/Error-1328-when-installing-Update-1-for-lnventor-20
15.html

So please, could you please have once again a look into this ?  I have really a big need for help because I actually need to have a full use of Inventor to get th e job done !

Thanks - best regards - Frank

Hi Frank,

Here is the updated page:

https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/inventor-products/troubleshooting/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcartic...

Typically there are 2 causes for such an error:

You need to uninstall the Franch Language pack & then reinstall it from:

https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/inventor-products/downloads/caas/downloads/content/inventor-2...

If that doens't fix it then the likely cause is that the Building Design Suite's initial release didn't contain the correct release build of Inventor; that's why the initial page suggets downloading it again & then reinstalling.

Hope this helps,

Chris
